I'm currently in my second season with Wrexham so I'm going to give you a quick review of the first season before getting started with story.
Season 1 Results
My goal at the start of the season was to make the play-offs since the Blue Square Prem I found out is a tough league with a compact schedule I wasn't interested in the cups even if the board were, I planned to win their approval with promotion. I was in the mix all season and with some good form towards the end getting 26pts in the last 10 games which led to me winning the league by 3pts finishing on 94pts.

I lost the 1st round of the FA cup to Cheltenham 2-3
I lost the 3rd round of the FA trophy to Kettering 1-2 who went on to the final losing to Histon in extra time.
Season 1 Thought Processes
When I tool charge I noticed 2 things about Wrexham they have a fairly large squad with both first team and reserves and a fairly young squad. Having a young squad was not a problem but having a large squad I could see being a problem, there is no way a club this small can afford to have this many players when a lot of them were useless. The solution was to make these useless players pay for themselves through pre-season leagues and cups not exactly realistic but this is a game after all.
With signings I brought in:
Elliot Parish, 30k from Villa
Willy Topp, Free
Cody Arnoux, Loan from Everton (Who became my parent club after a board request)
Emexca Orwubiko, Free
Josh Falkingham, £500 from Leeds
Jermaine Johnson, Free from Derby
Out:
Neil Taylor, loan to Telford
I was happy with the squad after a filtered out all the junk players to play in the reserves, I would have liked to have tried selling or releasing most of them but I didn't want any of the first team players getting tired playing unimportant reserves matches.
The pre-season funds raiser as I like to call it went well making enough money to cover the seasons costs and inevitable poor Blue Square Prem gate receipts, end of season profit was 127k which was good as I was losing about 80k a month once the season got started.
Tactics
My team tactics remained the same all season and will do in the future. I bring in players to play the formation, not build tactics around players.
The tactic is my own take on Mr Houghs dominance 10.2, the difference being I play with a deeper line and do not use the same opposition instructions and sideline shouts that are suggested. I find for it to succeed like any tactic I suppose you really need to be on the ball with sideline shouts and you need mark strikers and central attacking midfielders and close down players that play wide.
I like this formation as it is easy to keep a relatively small squad and have covers for most of your positions, and in the lower leagues a smaller squad means a cheaper squad or one that can include more decent players that demand higher pay. I will probably go into a more depth with my reasoning once I work out how to get screen caps done as it will make things easier to explain
Now this isn't exactly presented well but that something I look to improve once I start doing the more regular updates throughout my second season and figure out how to make it look nice. I've current played 12 games in the second season and will be looking to update this in a few hours or some point tomorrow. Hope you've enjoyed my rambling.

Great first season in the BSP and good luck in League 2.
Could've posted some screenies or pictures of your success but as you said you can do that next time
And great signing in Willy Topp.

League: League 2
Transfer Budget: £17.32k
Wage Budget: £31k/week
Board Expectations: Top Half
Media Expectation: Top Half, 6-1 to Win
Your Expectations: Challenge for play-offs
I will start off with the transfers as there were a lot of changes mainly the reserve team finally being able to be scrapped and with it the release of a lot of unwanted players.

I was pleased to bring in Frazer Richardson, Rui Marques and Jeff Strasser all experienced defenders which is what was needed as last season defence was a weakness.
The first team after changes.

At the moment the starting eleven are as follows.

The results of this season so far

Which leaves the league table looking like this.

So far I performing better than expected though it's still very early, my initial target was 65-70pts for the season so we'll see how things stand after 23 games as I'd be hoping for around 35pts. The next update will be then.

Willy Topp was a machine last season scoring 41 league goals in 39 games and things are looking the same this season with 11 goals in 12 league games so far.

Well done in the BSP but an even bigger well done in League Two so far. Hopefully you can stick it to the board with back-to-back promotions.

With the season now at the half way mark it's time for another update.

So as things stand I'm looking set to challenge for an automatic promotion or even win the league. I don't want to get ahead of myself but with the January transfer window I'll be looking to bring in decent players for league 1 and maybe some youngsters with championship potential. Also I may need to get rid of a few players that aren't happy with not getting 1st team football at the moment.
Next update will be either after the transfer window or in 12/13 league games time.

I'm now 35 games in and things are still looking very good.

I made a few changes in January but sadly there wasn't much on offer which is a shame as I had 350k given to me on request from the board, none of it spent as I'm not spending money for the sake of it. Matty Wolfenden and Mansour Assoumani were both sold since they were not happy being back up and had no future in the club.
I brought in 4 young players from Tottenham, Porstmouth, West Ham and an ex-Aston Villa all for free. They are good enough for this league which is why I signed them, they don't ask for high wages, give the squad some depth and they may even make it in higher leagues in the future.
In the next update I'll hopefully be a league 1 club with back to back promotions.

Looks like you're doing a fantastic job. It could go down to the last match and hopefully it'll all work out in your favour.

The seasons over and Wrexham are now a league 1 team. I had a run of bad form in the last stretch of games so was left in limbo between a title challenge and the play-off spots, still I'm pleased I got the results early in the season leaving a pressure free close to the season, I was even able to fit a few friendlies in the closing weeks to help fund my league 1 campaign.
Here is the final table and results.

So overall a very good season. Now I need to think about how to approach league 1.

A very good season indeed. I'd advise going for some loan signings as you can bring in some quality players to League One from the EPL and do a Player Search for players who have an Asking Price of £0 and another Search of Asking Prices beneath £100k, you can pick up some bargains.
