I cannot understand why the press conferences are so overlooked.
Okay, maybe questions are repeatable, maybe it's the same all the time, but, when utilised wisely, it can bring confidence to your team. Even by saying that you will replace player X will player Y, if player Y is liked in the team, the whole team will be happy.
You can praise your players, you can give a confidence boost to your new signing, you can play mind games, you can show respect, you can, well, everything.
And it does have effect, it wasn't brought into FM to be just a placeholder, right?
For your info, I handle the every damn single press conference that I could.

I'll admit they do get a bit annoying and repetitive at times but they are essential for me and I make sure I handle every one personally.
I sometimes try and build up a relationship with my Ass Man so that I can trust him to take them. I'd much rather do it myself though so I know that I am saying the right things 100% of the time.

The good thing about the questions is almost always the same is that you can do a press-conference in 20 seconds and always manage to say the right thing. Though that is also the problem of it. After 6 season at Athletic I let my assistant do it, he's doing good, has said all the right things and most of the same what I would have said. And I never get tempted to yell at the referee for being an arse

I'm not overly bothered about the repetitiveness of it - sure, I'd love a bit more variety, but I can just skip the conference if I can't be bothered.
What's a bit frustrating sometimes is that after the conference it only picks out one answer; half the time it's the one which has a dodgy effect on team morale, yet the string of fantastic motivating answers I gave goes completely unnoticed by everyone. I could just give all the perfect answers, every time, but it's a bit boring and unrealistic. Your thoughts?

I have been using them quite allot recently to be honest and they have been working in my eyes. I think that they are a very good way to rate or slate your own players. I always say that my team has confidence and it does seem to shine through on the pitch.

Yep, you make a fair point there; the game always seems to pick the one that will mess up everything. It is annoying, but on the other side, when talking about someone, mistakes are costly

Bores the fuck out of me and half the time i'll make the wrong decision and piss one of the players off - leaving me to deal with the rather annoying 'Unh' sign next to their name along with the consequences that follow for a few weeks or months. All yours assisstant!

I do them until I hire a decent Assman. Until that point I handle each Press Conference as if it were my last. They are important, but really repetitive and lose meaning after a while. This is the same with Pre Match meeting. You go to about 150 of Press conferences and Pre match meetings a year and over the course of a game it will get boring. Especially if you plan a long save.

Hit the nail on the head right there, it doesn't rate the press conference as a whole so one answer is blown out of all proportions by the media. (quite realistic actually!) On the other hand if you're someone who's just too honest and you say for example, 'Tevez isn't my favourite player', if it gets overlooked its a bit of a pheww moment!

The one quote thing is annoying as fuck mind, maybe if the questions based around it were a bit more varied it would be interesting. Id love some more tricky questions put in with bigger impacts, atm it is very basic.

I know what you mean, it all feels as if it has little impact on your players and the world that you play in.

Im pretty happy with the impact on players in some aspects. Its always nice to try and get a reaction from your own and the oppositions players. But I want to be held more accountable for my actions from the board, players and fans.
