Quote
Milan have won 18 officially recognized international titles, tied with Boca Juniors as having the most in the world. The club have won what is today known as the UEFA Champions League on seven occasions; only Real Madrid have won it more times (9). As far as Italian competitions are concerned, Milan are the second most successful club with 17 league titles; only Juventus have won more (27). AC Milan have won four world titles, more than any other club in the world. They have won the Intercontinental Cup 3 times , and the FIFA Club World Cup once.
Other important titles won by Milan include the European Super Cup a record five times, and the Cup Winners' Cup twice; however, they have never reached the UEFA Cup final (only two semi-finals). This is the only official trophy in existence that AC Milan has never won. In Italy, they have won the Coppa Italia five times, as well as five Italian Super Cups. AC Milan is also one of the G-14's founding members, a group that represented eighteen of the largest and most prestigious European football clubs before its disbandment.
Their home games are played at San Siro, also known as the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza. The ground, which is shared with rivals Internazionale, is the largest in Italian football, with total capacity of 80,018.
Expectations & Budgets
When you take over the club you are given three options, Continental Qualification through league finish, Title Challenge & Winner. I would recommend you choose the second, which gives you a transfer budget of £11.5M, but does not carry the expectations of saying you are going to win.

Squad

----
Goalkeepers

Christian Abbiati - A solid shot stopper with no real weaknesses, Abbiati should suffice for the first couple of seasons.
Zeljko Kalac - A decent back-up for the first season, but no more than that.
Dida - Once among the best in the world, and will stay a solid back-up to Abbiati for the first couple of seasons.
Overall - AC Milan have a solid set of goalkeepers for the first season, although as with the rest of the squad they are all quite old, and you may want to look at bringing in a younger goalkeeper in the second season.
Defenders

Paolo Maldini - The Club captain and one of the greatest defenders of all time, is still a world class defender at 40 and will continue to do well untill he retires at the end of the season. I would only play him in important matches though, as he does not have the stamina of the Maldini of 20 years ago.
Daniele Bonera - A highly reliable player who doesn't often let opponents past him, a great back-up to have in the squad.
Kakha Kaladze - A decent full-back, hardly the best player in the world, but hardly the worst either.
Alessandro Nesta - At 32, he would still be a leading star for most Serie A sides, with incredible timing into the challenge and a great ability to mark his man.

Gianluca Zambrotta - Once the best in the world, and would still be my first choice to start in the right back position.
Phillipe Senderos - Its up to you if you make his loan permanent, but I would keep him at least till it ends as he has no real weaknesses and is great in the air.
Luca Antonini - Not really good enough to play for a team challenging for the title, I would sell him.
Overall - Plenty of experienced defenders, but I would bring in some younger players to fill in some of the gaps.
Midfielders

Ivan Gattuso- A similar type of player to a younger Claude Makelele, Gattuso is one of the best defensive midfielders in the world and a must start. I would consider him as a candidate for the captaincy once Maldini has retired.
Massimo Ambrosini - A world class defensive midfielder, and club vice-captain, I would rotate him with Flamini with Ambrosini playing the more important matches.
Andrea Pirlo - More a playmaker than a holding player, you could retrain him as an attacking midfielder or just play him alongside two of the more defensive midfielders in the Milan squad.
Matthieu Flamini - An extremely good team player with a great work rate, and unlike most of the Milan squad, he is still improving.

Ronaldinho - The two time world player of the year is still one of the best in the world, and his ability to do the unexpected to beat his man makes him almost impossible to defend against.
Tabare Viudez - I would sell him as he never improves that much and will always struggle for a place in the team.
Kaka - A real live wire with the ball at his feet, in my opinion he is the best player in the game and I would not dream of selling him for any price.
Clarence Seedorf - Not the player he was five years ago but still a great dribbler, who could command a place in the first team.
Overall- The Milan midfield is one of the best teams in the world, and the only improvement I could suggest is perhaps a young attacking midfielder to play as back-up to the other three.
Forwards

Pato - One of the best young talents in the world, will become indispensable to the club in a couple of seasons.
Filippo Inzaghi - He may be old, and lacking a yard of pace, but his intelligence and movement off the ball still make him a constant threat for defenders.
Andriy Shevchenko - May have flopped at Chelsea, but is still one of the best strikers in Serie A. However, his wages are very high so if another good striker becomes available I would not hesitate in sending him back to London.
Marco Borriello - I don't really understand why he starts in the reserves and he should be moved straight back up once he has recovered from his injury. Borriello is a great target man with no real weaknesses.
Overall - Most of Milan's strikers are too young or too old, so I would consider bringing in a striker just coming into his prime to balance things out a bit.
----
Reserves & Under - 18s

Giuseppe Favalli - Is transfer listed for a reason and his advancing years mean he has no future at the club.
Marek Jankulovski - A solid left back and should be moved up to the first team to challenge for a spot in the starting line up.
Emerson - A solid midfielder but his high wages and Milan's strength in his position mean he has no future at the club.
Thiago Silva - Should partner Nesta in defence once Maldini retires and his ban finishes.

Mathias Cardacio - Will never become more than a back-up and should be sold. Matteo Darmian - Becomes a solid back-up who can possibly push for the first team. Alberto Paloschi - The best player in the Milan under 20s, you should look to sign Parma's half of the player as he will begin to push for a first team spot in a couple of seasons.
----
Out On Loan

Yohann Gourcuff - Becomes one of the best attacking midfielders in the game and should become indispensable to the club should Bordeaux not make his move permanent.
Massimo Oddo - Will never be more than a back-up should he return due to his advancing years.
Digao - Should be sold the moment he returns as he has no future at the club.
Aubameyang - Will become a decent pacy striker who can be called upon as a reliable back-up
Marco Storari - Should he return will challenge Abbiati for the first team spot.
----
Recommended Signings

Juan Manuel Vargas - Won't consider joining till January but is one of the best left backs in the game and will solve Milan's problems in that position.
Cristian Zapata - The need for a new centre back is not urgent, but if funds become available Zapata would be a great player to partner Thiago Silva once Nesta has hung up his boots.
Ezequiel Lavezzi - Should you choose to send Shevchenko back to London, Lavezzi would be a more than adequate replacement.
Davide Santon - Santon would be a great back-up and understudy to Zambrotta, but if he is out of your price range, Andrea Mazzarini would also be an excellent signing.
Diego Buonanotte - Should you still have spare funds then Buonanotte would be an excellant back-up to Kaka & Ronaldinho once Seedorf can no longer challenge for a place.

Tactics & Formations
Milan have plenty of defensive & attacking mids, and very little depth on the wings. You should look to accomodate for this using narrow formations, but allow your full-backs to push forward to give you some width.
First Formation
I would use this formation most of the time as it plays to all Milan's strengths, and allows Ronaldinho, Kaka & Seedorf to play together in attacking midfield, its only weakness is that it makes it hard to pick two midfielders out of Pirlo, Ambrosini, Gattuso & Flamini.

Second Formation
This is a good alternative to the above, it swaps three attacking midfielders for one attacking midfielder, a striker & a more defensive midfielder (although Pirlo acts more as a playmaker than a Makelele type holding player).

Third Formation
This formation swaps the flair of Seedorf for the playmaking of Pirlo, allowing the latter to lay on killer balls to Ronaldinho & Kaka.

Foreword
I will add some more screenshots, a section about staff and the instructions for the formations later but I wanted to put this up for now! This formation swaps the flair of Seedorf for the playmaking of Pirlo, allowing the latter to lay on killer balls to Ronaldinho & Kaka.
